Where can I buy Saucí?
Saucí is available at five retailers around the Boulder-Denver area, as well as various Farmer’s Markets, Pop-up Markets and such. Check the Events page for things like farmer’s markets and pop-ups, but so far we can be found at:
946 Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80302
What is the ‘shelf life’?
Our sauces are perishable and need to be refrigerated whether opened or not. If you’re out shopping for a couple hours or so it’s fine, keep them in as cool a place as you can, but they should be stored in the fridge aside from that.
In our tests, we normally find the Verde sauce can still taste great for up to 2 months or so in the fridge. The Romesco normally lasts well over 2 months or even 3. If you’ve kept it refrigerated but when you open it notice a slight ‘pop’ or it seems to be fermenting, please call us and we can get you a replacement.
They can be frozen to extend their life more or less indefinitely. If you’re going out of town or need to ship it or travel with it, you can freeze the jars (there’s enough room in the top to put them right in the freezer). The only noticeable difference we’ve seen is a slight darkening of the color in the Verde, but the taste has been indistinguishable.
Are the sauces vegan?
Yes! we decided to replace the honey with coconut sugar in our Saucí Verde, so that all our sauces can be vegan.
Are they organic?
We use organic products for nearly every one of our ingredients. Some ingredients are just too expensive to source reasonably as certified organic. Some of our suppliers maintain that their product is organic, but that they can’t afford the certification process, others such as some spices are rare in any form and therefore hard to get organic.
Please submit questions you have about Saucí products, or feel free to email or call. I’d love to hear from you and help me populate this page with useful information. You don’t have to leave your name or email, but it’s nice to know how our community is building!
